It is good news for cell phone and wireless users. AT&T has had a change in policy and customers will welcome the changes:
“NEW YORK — Starting immediately, AT&T (T) customers can ditch their AT&T phones and use any wireless phone, device and software application from any maker — think smartphones, e-mail and music downloading. And they don’t have to sign a contract.”

Google’s influence in this competitive niche is being felt already. Google’s competitive might, plus its healthy financials, may restore a focus on customer service in this sector.

This has been our policy for some time now. the thing is, we cannot guarantee that the internet, picture messaging, text messaging, or even voice will work. If you have any problems with a “Non-Branded” phone you will have to go to the manufacturer.
