Shreve Stockton: Raising Charlie the Coyote in Wyoming

  • No Related Post

Shreve Stockton may have one of the best weblog in terms of writing, photography and plain candor. Her site, The Daily Coyote, is about raising an orphaned coyote, Charlie. Along with her tomcat, Eli, Shreve Stockton is having this adventure in rural Wyoming. She lives in a one room cabin where the central heating is experienced by sitting close to the wood stove. Nevertheless, there must be an internet connection near.

Allow me to address the ‘coyotes should be wild’ responses that I am sure will follow. - Charlie is not a pet. Without Shreve’s intervention, there is no doubt that Charlie would have had a very short life span. The decisions about the future rest with Charlie. Ms Stockton is there to witness the magic, which she documents gloriously through her words and her photography.

Might there be heartbreak in the future? Of course - that is always a possibility. Isn’t that always part of any love story? - I encourage you to have a visit with Charlie.

Shreve is a marvelous writer, and her accounts of Charlie are beautiful and awe-inspiring. READ THIS BLOG! And buy the book this fall - she’s earned it!

Wendy, I couldn’t agree more. Shreve is so talented!
