Brett Favre: Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year

  • No Related Post

Brett Favre is having a remarkable season, at an age when most people are checking their waistline and finding new aches and pains. He is Sports Illustrated 2007 Sportsman of the Year.

There are sports performances that become so memorable that one remembers the time, place and the people who watched with you. One Brett Farve performance that was filed immediately into my long term memory was his November 2007 game in Detroit. It was a Thursday game which the Green Bay Packers won 37-26. What was remarkable was Brett Favre’s twenty pass completions in a row to seven different receivers. On many of those plays, Detroit knew that it was going to be a pass but they were not able to stop the completion. It was remarkable - twenty in a row.

I watched this Detroit/Green Bay game with a large group of people. Usually it is a noisy crowd but as the game progressed, the people became more and more quiet. It seemed that people realized that what was happening was something special. And it was special - and unforgettable. - Kudos to Brett Farve.

Yes, Brett is an amazing person at all that he can do. The Packers future is still looking bright, Our back up Aaron Rodgers looks like he will be a great person to lead the Packers to even more great plays once Brett’s time has past.
