Dry Cleaning the Dog

There are those times when you want to clean the dog, without having a ‘wet dog’ for a few hours. You can ‘dry clean’ the dog with corn starch. Spread corn starch on the dog’s coat and work this into the fur. Then comb / brush the corn starch out. You can do this stepwise - section by section.

It is best if you can do this outside. The dog will give a shake and the corn starch will be flying about the room. - The corn starch method might be something that you want to use when away from the house with the dog. It is a good idea to have some corn starch and a brush, as part of the car supplies. This allows you to give the dog an ‘emergency cleaning’, without having to ride in the car for a long drive home, with a wet dog. The corn starch method gives you a clean dog without the wet dog odor.
