Three Sure-Fire Ways to Bond with Geeks

Some of the people whom I see almost daily are geeks - a term which I use reverently. I have found that there are some sure fire ways to befriend these technical dynamos who are an invaluable source of help when computer problems arise. Here are three things to keep in mind:

1. carry spare batteries. If people know that you have spare batteries, you are held in high regard.

2. carry extra food. Cookies (the edible kind) are always good. Consider this an essential for the hours when food services are closed. Keep in mind that news of a food supply spreads rapidly, so preparation is essential.

3. carry coins. Vending machines seem to malfunction after sunset. Having correct change is sometimes the only answer. And often (very, very often), tech people like to do laundry at odd hours. This is a totally unexplainable phenomenon - science has its limits.
