Bluetooth Spam Allowed

If one were to think logically, one would hope that legislators would take every opportunity to stop spam. Unfortunately, this is not the case. The Information Commissioner’s Office (IOC) in the United Kingdom has determined that privacy laws do not apply to Bluetooth. Essentially, this is free license to spam.

It is baffling!

“…Regulation 22 therefore applies to the sending of text messages or emails ( which are both sent over a public electronic communications network, however, following consultation and consideration, we do not believe that this definition covers Bluetooth technology.”

Spammers must have an immensely powerful lobby group. The IOC has shredded the spam legislation.
