I saw your list of 10 things not to feed your dog. Our dogs actually LOVE apples. We give them small bites and they chew them up (as opposed to swallowing them). Wondering if the reason they are on the list is because they can cause choking, or something else??

Lynn, why I put it on the list is that apple seeds contain trace amounts of cyanide (cyanogenic glycosides). This can build up in their system. Humans can filter and eliminate this while dogs cannot. I would rather the dog not think that apples are a treat and prevent any future problems.
