Yesterday, against the Baltimore Orioles, Alex Rodriguez was 0 for 4. In the last eight games, he has had three hits. That is with twenty nine at bats.

If the Yankees play baseball in the October playoffs (and, most likely, the Yankees will advance), they will need hits from the Rodriguez bat. It is like a Shakespearean drama. Alex Rodriguez’s talent is without question - and he is insightful. He knows that he has had trouble in the postseason. Last season, after the Yankees were eliminated by the Detroit Tigers, Mr Rodriguez had this self evaluation:

“You kind of get tired of giving the other team credit. At some point, you just have to look in the mirror and say, ‘I sucked.’“

This was after having one hit in fourteen at bats. There were no RBIs. - October is near; Alex Rodriguez is in a major slump; and the drama continues.
