Tiger Woods: It’s the Putting

Tiger Woods won again this weekend. In the Tour Championship at the East Lake Golf Club, Tiger Woods led the field of the best golfers in the world by eight strokes.
That in itself is a remarkable score. However, there seems to be a statistic that some are overlooking. And that statistic is a close focus on the putting. At the East Lake course, Tiger was first in putting average and first in putts per round. The most strokes that Tiger needed on any green was two. There was not a single three putt green in the four days. That is the amazing statistics.
Tiger Woods always has been able to have tremendous distance off the tee. However, when he is able to finish on the greens in this fashion, it makes him very difficult to catch. As the old saying goes, ‘drive for show; putt for dough’. And the putting was exceptional.
