Cell Phone Legislation in California

  • No Related Post

It is the law now in California. Teens are restricted from using cell phones while driving:

“A law signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Thursday will require those teens to put down all cell phones and other electronic devices while driving. Older drivers will be able to use hands-free devices but minors won’t enjoy that luxury — in part because of the popularity of text-messaging among teens.”

While this legislation is enacted, there is news that, in Germany, there has been approval to have television on cell phones. The future extension to the California legislation most likely will be ‘no television viewing’ while driving.

Yet another piece of useless, knee-jerk legislation; passed by politicians and applauded by the Great Unwashed, who think that all problems can be solved by passing new and better laws.

It’s already illegal to pilot your vehicle into another vehicle. With the passage of this law, is it now MORE illegal to do so?

Great - now teens can go back to whatever used to distract them before cell phones. But who is going to protect us from adults who drive with cell phones? Quick - get the Governator on the line… I smell new legislation!

We are a nation of morons.
