After Harry Potter Magic… Crime

What follows a world wide literary phenomenon that is ‘Harry Potter’? What does one do after financial success that is measured in the millions of dollars - perhaps even over a billion dollars? For J.K. Rowling, it means that it is time to write - about crime:

“…The Sunday Times newspaper quoted Ian Rankin, a fellow author and neighbor of Rowling’s, as saying the creator of the “Harry Potter” books is turning to crime fiction.”

Literacy critics have said that anything that J.K. Rowling does in the future will be anticlimactic. They believe that the ‘Happy Potter phenomenon’ was a rarity. Can J.K. Rowling even come close to duplicating her ‘Harry magic’?

For her millions and millions of her fans, it does not matter that Ms Rowling repeat her Harry Potter success. What does matter is simply that she is writing again - and they can’t wait…
