Mozilla has promised to fix any known security issue within ten days:
“A Mozilla executive has vowed that his company can patch any critical vulnerability in its software within 10 days, a sign that Mozilla intends to step up its efforts to improve security.”

This is counter to a ‘once-a-month’ approach. However, one wonders if this ten day claim is just not a challenge to hackers. Perhaps the expectation is that there will be many, many patches issued from Mozilla.

I really like this idea. While I have Firefox and Thunderbird installed on multiple computers, my primary web browser is actually SeaMonkey. SeaMonkey doesn’t have the same update/upgrade service that Firefox and Thunderbird do. When a new version is available, I actually have to go to the Mozilla.org website and download the 13MB PC/23MB Mac file. I believe that the Mozilla foundation is doing a great job at releasing updates/upgrades to their programs.
