Newspapers are losing revenue. Advertising is going online. One way that The New York Time is trying to save money is by downsizing:
“Over the years, The New York Times has tended to think big, but tomorrow it will have to adapt to a new smaller-is- beautiful era.
In a front page note to readers this morning, the paper stated that the print edition they will hold tomorrow will be decidedly more compact.”

If The New York Times is feeling the economic crunch, the smaller, local newspapers must be feeling the declining revenue even more. It is tough to compete with the internet and twenty four hour cable news services. Once the newspaper reaches the readers’ hands, it is ‘old news’ already.
