A test of security at the IRS validates what the experts have been saying. One of the major weak points in a security system is the people. It is just unfortunate that, in this case, it is people who have access to vast stores of the American people’s personal data:

“(WASHINGTON)—IRS employees ignored security rules and turned over sensitive computer information to a caller posing as a technical support person, according to a government study.”

Security guideline are somewhat useless if people are spoofed so easily. It is disquieting to think that a data breach could happen at the IRS. It must be an identity thief’s dream score.
