The slowest part of your computer system may be you, if your typing is horrid. The amount of time backspacing and correcting adds up to a significant waste of energy. That can change though. There is a terrific online typing course that goes step by step to eliminate bad habits and to develop new skills, along with surprising speed. Perhaps you can eliminate some of those spelling errors which might be simply bad typing habits. And, if you are a ‘hunt and peck - two finger type’ person, you definitely need this program. You just need to be patient with yourself. Bookmark the link and use it daily for a three to four weeks. You will see improvement. Even if you do the basics correctly, Peter’s course will improve your speed. You might want to keep a record, as proof to yourself that there is improvement.

Wow! After having been “pecking” for ages while I typed I was amazed at the improvement in my typing abilities! Slowly but surely I did improve drastically! Thanks for the link!
