A church in Chicago has put up twenty billboards across the city. The advertising reads: “Stop Listening to Trash“. It is directed at the hip hop / rap music which demeans women, advocates violence and is blatantly racist:
“The billboard reads, “Stop listening to trash,” and lists ten current rappers whose lyrics they believe demean women and endorse violence.”

One wonders if this is just added publicity for these recording artists. It draws attention to their music - and turns them into victims of an advertising campaign. Undoubtedly, the campaign is done with good intentions. It will be surprising if this billboard advertising does not end up in some song lyrics.

I totally agree with you. I was joking with a woman I met that was opening up a new pagan shop in the heart of Utah. I told her when the Mormons came to protest her shop, to be sure to call all the news stations…best publicity around.
