Microsoft Agrees to Revise Vista

It is a victory for Google. There will be changes made to Microsoft’s Vista:
“Microsoft has agreed to revise its Vista operating system under a compromise with federal and state officials monitoring the company’s compliance with a five-year-old antitrust decree, according to a court filing last night.”

These changes should allow non-Microsoft desktop search products to work efficiently with Vista. Antitrust regulations prevent Microsoft from placing rival companies at a disadvantage from competing equally and fairly as the customer’s preferred software. Undoubtedly, from past legal entanglements, Microsoft already knew that.
