You Know You’re a Geek When…

I just spent the morning and a greater part of the afternoon with sixteen geeks. Guys - all guys. And I refer to them as ‘geeks’ because they refer to themselves by that term. Via casual observation, I think one qualifies as a geek when…
- the pizza restaurants that deliver at noon are on speed dial.
- computers and notebooks one owns have cute names.
- you know the latest, hilarious binary jokes.
- you know the places that sell power drinks in any given neighborhood in the city.
- your screen saver is Maria Sharapova, Jessica Alba, or… well, you have the idea.
Feel free to add to the list. I have to go name my laptop…

I am a geek, but I am female, and only one of those applied to me…the naming your computer cute names. Well, ok, Raven isn’t really *cute*., but I did name it. Actually I am a health freak, work out every day, and try really hard to balance the physical with my mental world. I have been into computers since the first version of Windows came out, and all we had were BBS’s. All the way back then I dreamed of some day being a hacker. I am no where near my dream space of hacking capacities, but I am working on it!
