The Pants Lawsuit: Asking for $54 Million

The tales of frivolous litigation are legion. Lawsuits create time demands on the legal system that cause delays with matters which, ideally, would have the court’s immediate attention. Nevertheless, a judge has filed suit (no pun intended) over a pair of pants:
“WASHINGTON — A judge had to leave the courtroom with tears running down his face Tuesday after recalling the lost pair of trousers that led to his $54 million lawsuit against a dry cleaner.”

I would assume that a judge would bring before the court only a matter of importance. He must have been very emotionally attached to that pair of pants. Discussing the pants in court moved him to tears - and a claim of fifty four million ($54,000,000.00) dollars.

The referenced article doesn’t mention why the person is seeking $54 million in damages. The article I saw a few weeks ago stated the $54 million was based on calculation for the cost of an automobile and driving expenses since this person could no longer trust the local dry cleaners neighborhood dry cleaners that he could walk to. To get his clothes dried cleaned he now has to drive 2 miles away to another dry cleaners, 2 times a week
Ever hear of a bus or taxi buddy?

This person should be immediately impeached and charged with whatever frivolous lawsuit statutes are available. He should then be permanently barred from serving in any government position for the remainder of his useless life!
