Hallmark Cards and Phishing

Hallmark has issues a warning about e-cards:

“Next time you find one of those electronic greeting cards in your inbox from Hallmark, examine it carefully. Instead of offering good wishes, it could be a phishing scam designed to steal your money, credit-card numbers or identity.

With Father’s Day coming up this month, consumers could be especially vulnerable to the ploy.”

A previous article on DogReader had some curious reactions. One person characterized the possibility of exploits as “ridiculous”. Perhaps this caution from the greeting card firm itself will be more convincing to some.

Be careful - some hackers are exceptionally skilled.
