China Has Safety Concerns about American Products

China seems to have retaliated to the exposure of tainted Chinese products by issuing safety concerns about American goods:
“BEIJING - China said Saturday it had rejected a shipment of pistachios from the United States because it contained ants, the latest indication the government may be retaliating as Chinese products are turned back from overseas because of safety concerns.”

Meanwhile, one has to keep in mind that there has not been a satisfactory explanation as to why there was melamine in Chinese exports that killed thousands of pets. The pet food recall has focused attention on the safety of Chinese goods. It seems that the Chinese authorities have responded in kind.
