The sentencing portion of the Julie Amero case is scheduled for June 6, 2007. Ms Amero has refused a plea agreement which would have allowed her to avoid prison. However, a motion has been filed for a new trial:
“Defense attorneys filed a motion today requesting a new trial for Julie Amero, the former Norwich substitute teacher convicted of exposing her seventh-grade students to Internet porn.
Convicted on four counts of risk of injury to a minor, or impairing the morals of a child, Amero, 40, of Windham, faces up to 40 years in prison at sentencing Wednesday in New London Superior Court…”

This debacle drags on for Ms Amero. It must be so personally distressful. However, how else can Ms Amero clear her name?
