The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon

It’s in San Diego and it is a huge event. Some local runners made the trip to San Diego this year, so I have been following the race online. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon is a competitive run. Apparently, though, this race is not your typical marathon. There are bands along the route and Elvis impersonators. It sounds like it is loads of fun:
““We always try to have a couple of Elvises lead,” said Babbitt, who’s a part of the group. “It’s rock and roll. It goes without saying.”
If marathoners want tradition, they can go to Boston or New York.
If they want to have fun, they come to San Diego.
“It is a 26.2-mile mobile party,” Babbitt said.
“Most of the Elvi finish the race,” said the marathon’s founder, Tim Murphy of Elite Racing. “They’re real runners. They said they’re coming out of the woodwork for the 10th.”

It seems that when you have more than one ‘Elvis’, the plural is ‘Elvi’. - Who knew?!
