Steve Bass Is Annoyed

  • No Related Post

Steve Bass is a writer in the technology sector and he is a bit miffed. His credit union has had a data breach and, yes, Steve’s personal information is out there:

“They recently sent election ballots to members. Printed on the outside of the envelope were some numbers. The first was our account number. That might not have been enough to help with anyone intent on identity theft, so they also printed my social security number on the envelope.”

It is also Priority One Credit Union’s bad fortune to annoy a widely read tech writer. This can’t be good for a financial institution’s public image.

Good luck to the ‘real’ Steve Bass - I have a hunch that Steve will be writing more about identity theft in the months to come.

Oh, you’ll hear more, no doubt. Just as soon as I find a new credit union…

Wow! That really is as bad as it gets. The Government urges folks not to carry their Social Security cards with them, of course if you happen to be
retired and have a Medicare card, you are urged to have it in your possession at all times…guess what is used as an I.D. number? Yup!
The Veterans Administration did the same thing at one time but have since changed their I.D. numbering system…
