Julie Amero Is Still Free

The sentencing portion of the Julie Amero case has been postponed again. “Originally scheduled for Friday in Norwich Superior Court, sentencing is now set for June 6 in New London Superior Court.”

I am told by people who are assisting in this matter that delays in concluding this sentencing fall to Ms Amero’s benefit. That may well be true. However, I can’t help but think what the stress must be like for this woman, especially in light of her belief that she did not do anything wrong.

If everything being reported is correct, she did not do anything wrong, and should not be awaiting sentencing. The sentence one receives for doing nothing wrong is ‘would you like to sue for false arrest, imprisonment, and the like’?
