Associated Press and Sports Illustrated have announced that Dirk Nowitzki is the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the 2006 - 2007 NBA season:
“Nowitzki’s victory also ends the two-year reign of his good friend and former teammate Steve Nash of Phoenix. After blossoming into star players together in Dallas, one of them has been the MVP all three seasons since they’ve been separated.”

There has been a heated discussion on this space about the selection of the MVP. With the votes counted, congratulations to Dirk Nowitzki. And congratulations to the Dallas Mavericks.

Long overdue, Thank You voters for acknowleging such an Amazing out this world player. The Mavs had an awesome season with an unbelievable record . He is not only a great player but his pose and humility about it makes him deserve it even more. Great! Great !job Dirk Nowitzi.

I agree with Mr. Ryan Snow- Dirk getting MVP was a pity reward for the Mavs getting bumped out of the playoffs by Golden State-Steve Nash is the real MVP no doubt. Hey Dirk- would you like a box of tisssues with that trophy that you don’t deserve?

I accidentally came upon this website, but you guys have no clue. Why does Steve Nash deserve it more? Because he has never been to the finals? Because every year they get beat in the playoffs? Dirk competely deserved it. Nash played better? Get your facts together. Who had the better record? Who had better efficiency? It’s fake NBA fans like you that ruin the game.
I realize how old this topic is, but it had to be said.
