DNA Testing and Legislation

  • No Related Post

DNA testing could identify you as a health risk to a potential employer. It can identify you as possibly a poor risk for insurance coverage. There could be discrimination based on genetic, DNA evidence. Legislation is going before the Senate to address these issues. Unfortunately, the “bill was first introduced in Congress 12 years ago. It was approved twice in the Senate by unanimous votes, the last time in 2005, but had never previously cleared the House.”

Obviously, such legislation would bar access and use of very personal, significant data. It is in the best interests of corporate business to have this information. It translates into dollars saved.
