Pet Food Recall List Is Incomplete

This is really outrageous. The pet food recall list is incomplete. You may be feeding your pet contaminated food.

Lisa Wade McCormick at ConsumerAffairs.Com has reported that “Some Companies that Received Tainted Rice Protein Have Not Started Recalls”.

Why are authorities waiting for a ‘voluntary recall’? The data indicate that the contaminated food is deadly. Shouldn’t this be an enforced recall at this point? And, if a company does not comply, shouldn’t the public be aware of that and be allowed to express public sentiment by means of what products are not purchased? This is maddening!

Around August ‘03 to October both my cats and my dog died. The dog had black stools. They seemed to be poisoned, but I just thought they were old, except that the young cat died first. I now suspect that it ate the most food being young. The dog ate the dry cat food occasionally, especially since I would add meat or chicken broth. During this time as I walked around my town I saw several dead cats. In my fantasy explanation someone was poisoning animals. I now suspect that the contamination now discovered is not new but has been a problem for some time.

My grandmother’s cat recently died.We thoght it was old age too, but it wasn’t.He had all the symptoms from the contaminated food. This is ridiculous!! !Something needs to be done ASAP.The Lord didn’t give us these animals for us to poison!!!!

I left a comment on another post (about Costco food) but will add it here too. My 12 old English Cocker was within 2 days of dying before we figured out she wasn’t just old and confused but was very, very sick. She’s recovering now but we won’t know if it’s real or not until she’s off all her meds. And we have a vet bill that is over $1400 and continues to rise as weekly tests are needed. I have other dogs who , looking back, also showed some of the symptoms but much less obviously so and who seemed to have “fought” it off. We’re still feeding Costco dry food but with some trepidation. We honeslty don’t know what food we can trust now.
