Google Buys DoubleClick

Google is reported to have bought DoubleClick. “Seeking to expand its already well-honed ability to sell targeted Internet advertisements, online search leader Google Inc. said it has agreed to pay $3.1 billion in cash to acquire ad-management technology company DoubleClick Inc.”

Not only does this expand Google’s advertising empire, the deal allows Google a wealth (no pun intended) of internet data. All DoubleClick’s data now belong to Google. Let’s hope Google remembers all that ‘do no evil’ stuff.
