American Couple Viciously Attacked While In Beijing

On Saturday while at a ancient Beijing tower, an American couple related to a United States Olympic volleyball coach were viciously attacked when a man wielding a dagger repetitively stabbed them both, killing the man and leaving the woman hospitalized in critical condition.

Immediately after the attack, the male chinese suspect committed suicide by jumping from the top of the tower to his death. President Bush, who is currently attending the games with his family, made this statement when heard of the terrible news:

“Laura and I were also saddened by the attack on an American family and their Chinese tour guide today in Beijing. The United States government has offered to provide any assistance the family needs.” 

Beijing police believe that this was an “random attack”, meaning that the suspect was not specifically attacking Americans.  Many people were wondering if the victims had any clothing or apparel with the American flag appearing on it, but their was none what so ever. This news comes a few weeks after a Canadian model was attacked in Shanghai by an 18-year-old man police say confessed to killing the young Salt Spring Island, B.C., woman during a robbery at her apartment.
