iPod Rumor Mill: 64GB iPod Touch, New iPod Nano and Shuffle?

TGDaily is reporting that new iPod are on the way, and are expected to be released this August.

It time for a new round of Apple rumors. Apple is widely expected to refresh its iPod lineup in August. There is your usual set of rumors out there with some interesting thoughts on likely changes and upgrades. Sources seem to agree that the upgrades will more evolutionary than evolutionary, which, if the sources are correct, may be surprising as Apple’s iPod sales growth shows signs of a slowdown and the company could need a new blockbuster media player rather sooner than later.

So what’s in the making? A possible 64GB iPod Touch, a Zune-like iPod Nano, and an 8GB iPod Shuffle. Let’s look at that in detail:

  • iPod Touch:
  1. 8GB price-cut to $249.
  2. As said before; a new 64GB version.
  3. Possible GPS (A-GPS).
  • iPod Nano:

  1. Now up to a 16GB model.
  2. A taller screen (similar to the Zune).
  3. A multi-color body (meaning many colors within the same unit).
  4. iLounge reports: “Instead of the Zune-like body, a form factor similar to the iPhone will be put in place.”
  • iPod Shuffle:
  1. 1GB Shuffle will go below $50.
  2. A new 4G iPod Shuffle will be released.
  3. Slight change to the form of the Shuffle.

If any of the rumors were true, I so want the Touch! 64GB and a touch screen? Not to mention the GPS! Anyway, all of the rumors above look pretty good. But, they are rumors… Feel free to comment.
