Samsung has much practice when it come to camera phones, but does that mean that this newly unveiled 8-megapixel a profit maker? The phone is called Innov8 (”8″ for 8-megapixels). A phone that is defined as “a cinema in your pocket”: It has an FM radio, with HSDPA connectivity at 7.2Mbps and seamless connection through WiFi, a large 2.8″ display, an accelerometer, and an optical mouse (not fully explained). It has a 3.5mm headset jack, stereo Bluetooth, 8GB or 16GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot (could hold up to an extra 16GB), a music player, and A-GPS (same as the iPhone 3G). Not only does it have the Symbian OS v9.3, but a S60 applications library, which lets you watch videos, including DivX files, view pictures and will let you play, as an exclusive feature, 2 free embedded 3D games (FIFA 2008 and Digital Living Network Alliance [DLNA]). It gives you 500 minutes of talk time when on 2.5G or 310 minutes when using 3G (on a full charge). If that’s not enough for you mobile fanatics, here’s what it looks like:
It will be in Europe this August and will reach the states by September. Pricing is not yet available.
Once again, this is merely a camera phone, not an iPhone killer. Clearly the software does not match up to that of the iPhone’s, but if you have a place in your heart for photography, this phone will not only keep you in the social, but allow to take decent pictures.

My 2 cents: iPhone all the way. The software on the Innov8 is less than appealing. Eventually, their will be many camera apps on the iPhone (plus the iPhone has a decent camera already). And to be honest, who doesn’t want a sexy iPhone 3G XD !
