Post To WordPress From Your iPhone

WordPress just released today, with the opening of Apple’s App Store, a video of “WordPress for your iPhone”! This App will support not only WordPress.com blogs but also “self-hosted” WordPress.org blogs, like…Oh I dunno, Lockergnome maybe (apparently not, we don’t have an up to date version of WordPress to make it work)? :( It looks somewhat easy to type in your blog details and even easier to write up a new post on the iPhone (as shown in the video). But for people writing actual news stories, myself included, it would be very hard to write up an accurate post which would include sources and media. The inability to copy quotes, embed YouTube videos and only post pictures from my photo album on my iPhone? I am pretty sure the next version of the Mac Mini will not be in there. Nope, it’s not for me. I must admit the preview of the new post on the blog looks quite good, especially for an iPhone (imagine Lockergnome on there, but sadly no)! But, I’ll give WordPress a thumbs up! For their first try, they at least gave the basics. The App is expected to be released shortly.
