Quick Carpet Fixes For Potty Training Puppies!

Today Kim from Denver writes:

Help my family is coming over for Thanksgiving! They will be here in under a week! The problem is we just got 2 new puppies and they aren’t potty trained yet. Is there anything I can do to help hide their mistakes, there’s no time for new carpet?

First of all I’d suggest getting a good carpet cleaner, like Folex or Capture. I prefer them because they don’t leave a soap residue in your carpet, which can attract more dirt. And if possible, get those little ‘mistakes’ when they’re fresh. That will help prolong the life of your carpet. If you are wanting to save your existing carpet, try having a carpet cleaning company that uses an extraction method, like Chem-Dry come out to clean your carpets.

If your spots are permanent or you are planning on replacing your carpets after the holiday, never underestimate the power of a good area rug! They come in a variety of sizes, styles and colors. It’s the perfect fix to go over any eyesores you might have. But remember, if the puppies aren’t potty trained, they aren’t going to avoid that new rug. So you may want to start out with something inexpensive. Area rugs are sold in a variety of places. From Walmart, Target and Fred Meyer to Home Depot and Lowe’s. Not to mention all the designer places around. Good luck with the new puppies!
