Right click impediments.

Do you find yourself feeling overwhelmed with options when you execute a right click? In most cases, the programs on your computer (other than OS default programs) have installed “shell extensions”. Shell extensions are in-process COM objects that are integrated into your Windows operating system (by default, or additional programs). An example of a Windows default shell extension is the “copy” command, an example of a 3rd party shell extension would be “add to winRAR archive”.

So you are annoyed by that 3rd party shell extension showing up every time you right click, you say? Then let us deactivate it! First off you are going to need to download ShellExView. This free program will display and allow you to disable/enable any shell extension(s) found on your computer. ShellExview is currently compatible with Windows 98 to Vista (with x64 versions!).

Now that ShellExView is installed on your system, go ahead and open it. The program lists all of the currently active shells, and you can choose which shells you want to enable and which you want disabled, It’s that easy!

After you are done choosing, you can exit out of the program and the settings have been automatically saved! Some people request that you “back up” before changing the way your operating system functions, but I wouldn’t worry too much about screwing up anything… considering you can always open up ShellExView and re-do everything anyway.

That is all, feel free to comment everyone!
