How much RAM for Windows XP?

Many people ask how much RAM they should have for their Windows XP based computer. I have found that Windows XP runs fine on 128 MB of RAM. It really depends on what programs and how many programs you are running at one time. If all you do is browse the internet and read email, 256 MB would be just fine, but if you play video games and edit video you need about 1 GB of RAM. So the bottom line is that XP is very efficient of RAM usage.
