Bidens and Obamas Get The Best Codenames Ever

The art of assigning code names to important government officials by the Secret Service dates back to before encrypted radio signals could be sent. Obviously, since the advent of radio encryption, the code names no longer serve a purpose. Today, the Chicago Tribune reported what those code names are for the Obama family and the Biden family. All four names assigned to the Obamas begin with the letter R, for what reason I do not know.
President-Elect Obama - Renegade
First Lady-Elect - Renaissance
Malia Obama - Radiance
Sasha Obama - Rosebud
Vice President-elect Biden - Celtic
Jill Biden - Capri
The list includes other presidents, their families, and vice presidents as well. My personal favorite on the list? John F. Kennedy’s codename of Lancer.
