Seinfeld to take comedy to Windows Vista horrow show

World famous comedian Jerry Seinfeld has reportedly cut a deal with Microsoft to help tell the world about the benefits of switching to Windows Vista (”Ultimate”).
The Wall Street Journal reports that Seinfeld will be paid around $10 million to star in a bunch of clever advertisements with charismatic chairman Bill Gates.
The funnyman will be armed with heaps of new material as he tries to convince people that security, performance, and improved experience are just some of the great reasons why you should fork over a bundle of cash and upgrade from Windows XP.
Microsoft is expecting to spend $300 million on a campaign based around their “Windows not walls” slogan. The campaign is Microsoft’s response to several successful Apple advertisements that have helped drive Mac marketshare up by an estimated 0.0015% in the past 18 months.
$50 million could also be set aside for a follow-up campaign “after the upgrade” where Seinfeld makes light of the fact that none of your devices work anymore, your system has slowed to a crawl, and the much touted security benefits have failed to prevent a slew of viruses and spyware from infecting your machine. (but have you installed the Vista Ultimate add-on Poker — Seinfeld could quizzically ponder?)
Sounds like another winning Ballmer strategy to me.

I can’t think of a better-suited match than Seinfeld and Vista.
A comic that isn’t funny pitching an OS that isn’t any good. A pitchman with a bloated salary shilling for a bloated operating system. An overhyped comedian selling an overhyped OS.
Since it’s cool to like Seinfeld, maybe it will be cool to like Vista too!
