Microsoft VX-1000

When on a budget what counts more? Video or audio?

In my opinion it depends on what you are doing. If you are Podcasting / Video Blogging I think audio counts more. I will go into the audio in another blog though.
Even though I focus on my audio more than my video I believe you should at least have a camera that runs 30 frames per second (fps). I use a Microsoft Lifecam VX-1000. It serves it’s purpose well. It’s not the best video quality but it only cost $30.

It comes with awful software though. It has effects nobody would ever use seriously. The adjustments you can make to the webcam are nice though. You can get it to look fairly decent in many lighting conditions.

The awful software seen above.

In the end the VX-1000 serves it’s purpose if you are on a budget. If you can afford to spend a little more I would go with the new VX-7000 or the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000.
