Audio in video blogging / podcasting .

How important is audio to you in a video compared to the actual video? I think it is more important when video blogging / podcasting. What is the point of video blogging when people have no clue what you are saying?

I use a Samson C01U USB Studio Condenser Microphone. This is an amazing product for such the cheap price. Around $85 is all this item costs.
I had trouble setting it up on my PC though. This is only because I used the SoftPre software that came with it.

The SoftPre software is supposed to help control the gain and has a low cut filter. This works in a terrible fashion. Just stick to the Windows Audio Mixer if using a PC.

I still don’t seem to get the greatest quality I could be getting. I know Chris Pirillo uses this microphone as well and if you check out his videos on youtube the audio is clearly crisper than mine.

Either way I would recommend this to anyone wanting to use a great mic for podcasting. I do not use the optional shock mount you can buy but I probably should.
