The big “move” to LockerGnome

Well, I’ve decided to move my whole personal blog to the LockerGnome blogging network. Why? Well, there are a few reasons, such as its free, easy to manage etc. However, I think the biggest and most compelling reason for me to make the decision to switch from hosting my own blog was a combination of the fact that I wanted easy management, but I hate services like blogger. That, and I’m used to Wordpress as my platform for blogging.
I tried Blogger. It was complete rubbish, and a waste of time. The skinning is so limited as to what they let you do, and they stick an ugly top bar at the top of the screen.
I tried Typepad, and not only was it everything blogger was, but it was a waste of my money as well.
Ultimately, I decided “hey, LockerGnome runs on a platform I know well, and I won’t have to worry about backing up!”. Besides…I’m already a part of the community anyway. I’m nearly always in the chatroom. Not always by the keyboard, but I bet I have more idle time than most.
Next week sometime, I am going to do an in depth comparison of all the other blogging networks to LockerGnome, and why I think its the best.
