Thanks to Steve Bass for bringing this to my attention. It is not a hoax!
Donttaxourweb.org is a coalition of companies and trade associations dedicated to:
- keeping Internet access services free of all federal, state, and local transaction taxes;
- preventing the imposition of duplicative and discriminatory taxes on e-commerce; and
- avoiding the imposition of hidden taxes on consumers of Internet access.

Well it isin’t right to tax the web, for one reason they can’t tax the whole world ,and why should we have to be taxed ‘ if so they should try to collect revenue from the rest of the world to ,how do you think that would set with others outside of the US.
Do they not have enough money yet ,or how soon will it cost to breath air, and if you do not pay for this air what will they do take your air away, hummm!! probably so

Give them time….I’m predicting Canada will lead the way. We have a tax on blank CDs and DVDs to be given to artists or their representatives (I don’t remember which) just in case the buyer of the blank media will illegally download or copy their material. Oh, downloading music is NOT illegal in Canada…….just distributing is. Go figure(?)
