Steve Bass, over at PC World, did some research into opting out of all those free credit card offers and other kinds of solicitation that have become such a part of everyday life. These pose a very real threat to the security of your identity, credit rating, bank account and peace of mind, but if you’re willing to put a bit of effort into it, you can reduce the quantity of that kind of garbage by significant amounts. I’m definitely going to read that. It’s tricky though, some of those things are hard to opt out of.
