280 Slides, The Best Web App?

Slides 280 is a presentation maker that rivals that of Microsoft’s PowerPoint and Apple’s Keynote, but unlike these two programs it is completely cross platform and free.

How is that?

280 Slides is not a traditional program that installs on your computer, it is a web application that runs in any browser on any operating system. This means that it will work in Window, OS X, and even Linux with no compatibility issues. Of course wee have seen web apps before in the past, see all of Google’s programs like Calendar and Gmail, but none of these are as polished or as well thought out as 280 Slides.

As you can tell by the look of the program the developers where inspired by the Mac look and it looks great in any browser on any OS, I am running it inside of Firefox on OS X and it looks great! Unlike other web apps this actually feels like a real program that you would traditionally require you to install on your hard drive.

When it comes to features Slides 280 is loaded. It has a built in pictures search that lets you search Google Images and Flickr for images you can add to your presentation. Not only can you search for and add pictures but you can also add videos from popular places like YouTube. Also you can share your presentation with anyone through either e-mail or by adding it to SlideShare.net, but the best feature is being able to download right into PowerPoint with full compatibility.

Slides 280 likes like the future of web based programs and is by far the most polished web app I have ever seen or used. Heres to hoping that other companies get going with web apps.
