Dear Microsoft, Take A Look At Snow Leopard

With all the iPhone 3G hype today a small bit of news passed through the wire stating that Apple is already working on and seeding a new version of OS X, version 10.6. Instead of reinventing the wheel and introducing new programs they are focusing in on operating system improvements, bug fixes, and new technologies to enhance the performance of multi-processor computers. Apple expects this version to be released in about a year, look for the holiday season 09, its unclear whether it will be a free update or a stand alone version. Either way look at this as a gateway into the next version of OS X, 10.7 if you are following the trend here. While all this is great for us Mac users the whole time I heard Steve say this I couldn’t help think but, why isn’t Microsoft doing this?
It would be a smart move for Microsoft to come out and say that there are bugs and bad technology in Vista and if the users like they can upgrade to a new version in a year with new technologies and a focus on improving speed and performance. I know this sounds like a service pack but I think there should be much, much more. For starters how about removing the registry? Fixes the GUI inconsistencies, and making it both 64 and 32 bit, much like OS X Leopard. Basically make this version a hardware/software tweak and fix and not so much as a dramatic face lift of the OS. Also they need to seed this to the OEMs like Dell right away to ensure that all drivers and accessories work appropriately.
Doing this would at first sound like Microsoft is giving up on Vista but the users would understand that this a good move forward for the Windows operating system and its for the better. So Microsoft its time you started fixing your problems and taking the blame for problems that are still present from the beta version. I would even help test this if it ever surfaces, I am sure it won’t.

Frye do you OS X? If so are you willing to pay for the upgrade, if there is a cost?
(oh thanks for all the comments!)
