Is there a way to fix Gmail contacts?

I get a lot of e-mails daily on my Gmail account from various people, some I know, some are readers of this blog, and some people I have no idea who they are, which is nice but for some reason Gmail saves everyone who has e-mailed me and who I have e-mailed as a contact. Which means my contacts are littered with thousands of names and e-mails who I don’t know and need there. A lot of these are annoying because they are mostly from Craigslist, Amazon, and Ebay.It wasn’t a big deal at first until I decided to sync my Gmail account with Address Book in Leopard 10.5.3 and all hell broke loose. So I spent the better part of an hour deleting random e-mails.So does anyone know a way to keep new e-mails from being added to contacts?If you know an answer to this leave a comment or e-mail me or if you have any other questions you can e-mail me at matt.digged@gmail.com
