Outlook or Apple Mail?

Recently I posted on Twitter that I have decided to go cold turkey on Outlook and give Apple Mail and Calendar a try. This wasn’t because I hate Outlook 2007 or anything but because of the hassle I having to open up a virtual machine and so forth. So far it has been a pleasant experience. One of the things I enjoy most about the Apple version is that the Mail, Calendar, and Address book are all separate of each other but still integrate great with each other. I am a Quicksilver nut and it’s nice to be able to search my contacts with a few strokes of the keyboard without ever opening an application. The calendar is also nice but I am not big updating the calendar each day, but I do put a few school deadlines on there and find that they sync with my iPod Touch to be a great feature. The interface for all of this is nice but I do prefer the blue look of Outlook, but looks aren’t everything right? As for the mail client I have no complaints. Apple Mail receives my mail, sends my mail all flawlessly with my Gmail account. The one feature I am loving off Apple Mail is the RSS feeds section. The white look to the program makes it easier to read these posts and the general layout of the program makes it a snap to start browsing them. The notes feature is nifty and I use it somewhat often, but I prefer to use the widget notes instead. That’s just a brief overview of Apple Mail and such, without going into too much detail. So what do you prefer to use? Apple Mail? Outlook? Windows Calendar? Let us know via a comment.

Thunderbird and Lightening as used in my Leopard setup. At the same time, I also use Windows Live Mail Desktop for all of my Hotmail accounts in Windows XP, VMware Fusion setup. I only check my Hotmail accounts about 4 times a day and just suspend the VM when I finished so opening it again isn’t a problem for me.
