One reason why Office 2007 is better than Office 2008

  • No Related Post

As many of you know I own a Macbook now and I am running OS X Leopard happily and with my purchase of this computer I bought Office 2008 but I was shocked when I found out it is missing a great feature from the Windows equivalent Office 2007, and that is the blogging feature in Word. Of course there are other things wrong with Office 2008, its slow, buggy, doesn’t play well with spaces, and SP1 broke my installation (its fixed now).

This is one of the main reasons why I bought I bought Office 2007 last year for my Windows PC and I am puzzled as to why it wasn’t included with Word 2008. Maybe Microsoft will add it back in a future update, who knows, but until then I have unloaded the Office 2008 software from my Mac and I have since then installed XP, via Vmware Fusion, and I am using my copy of Office 2007 again.

While there are other blogging tools out there I prefer to use Word 2007 over some other free software like Windows Live Writer because I feel it is a more powerful tool. I hope the Office 2008 team reads this, they probably won’t, and I hope they understand that us Mac users need this feature in our version of Office.

(p.s. Office 2007 SP1 is freaking huge!)

Hello,

Just as a heads-up, it appears the “categories” tag stream is being displayed as part of the background behind the subject of your blog entry, the first two lines of your first paragraph of text and also in behind the text in the Recent Posts box. It makes your article difficult to read.

Aryeh Goretsky

Thanks for the heads up Aryeh, we had some technical difficulties with the themes yesterday,

all better now :)
