My friend’s thoughts about his first Mac

My friend Chris, not Pirillo, is a long time Windows user who just recently bought his first Mac — a MacBook Pro. He has used a Mac off and on the past year at school but has never “lived” with it at home nor has he been without Windows must of his computing life, here is just some of his first impressions of OS X Leopard, mostly the dock.
i think that one of the most innovative and useful aspects of a mac is definitely the dock. the convienence of the dock makes window’s taskbar comparable to a rock and chisel and, i honestly believe, outweighs the combination of using the taskbar and desktop together. Apart from being very eye-appealing, the dock allows me to use stacks in way that makes windows explorer seem almost ridiculous.
i have countless items available to me at one or at the most two clicks away in manner so convenient and compact that it makes you want to dread the next time you have to use windows.
i find the use of the dock very comparable to the first time i opened a new tab on Firefox.. it allowed me to have several windows open without cluttering my taskbar. It could be argued that the taskbar groups applications together when you have multiple windows open, but to me it was a hassle even BEFORE i had adapted to a mac.. with a mac i have the option of using expose to quickly access my running programs or just click on the application of the window that i want to go to, to quickly bring up all of the windows i have running on the application.
and those are just a few thoughts i have on the dock.. mac os x has SO MANY details that make me fall in love with it.

Yeah, I have only seen the Mac OS X and I already know that it’s far superior to the lame Windows! Windows is stupid compared to Mac!

Oh man I just bought a macbook this last February. and I love it I agree with everything here. It is much better than windows I like the mac because it makes everything so useful and easy to use. it never clutters your hard-drive. It dose not matter you cant really game on it because it makes up for that in all of its productivity and graphics. Like they say get a mac you never go back.

glad to see people giving credit where its due. I switched about 2 years now and I cannot see myself using a pc at home anymore. Mac OS X is not perfect but I believe its overall superior to what is out there. I recently converted a guy from work, he wanted to spend $500 on a new HP, I told him, that it will be just another box in his life and that he would bring it home and just “use it” and turn it off when he’s done. Already he’s made an awesome video on youtube showcasing his family moments. He was astounded how easy and intuitive and how much he spent time on actually being creative instead of “working” on his project. He now gets all the lame Windows attacks with me at work. He’s never been happier using a computer.
