The folks from the Zune team released a new update to the Zune Software, version 2.3, today. Now don’t get to excited about the update  because it doesn’t add any new features to the software or device.

So what does it do?

Well for me it has fixed a few issues I have had. For starters though the program launches a little faster and a whole lot smoother then before. As for the issues it seems to have fixed some of the syncing problems. For instance it doesn’t add video files twice to my Zune. Also the software downloads my podcasts correctly now. Before the new update it would download some episodes of Mahalo Daily but not the ones I want. I would usually end up with the second to newest one and some older ones and it would never download the newest ones.

Kudos to the Zune team on this one, maybe next update we can get movies/TV shows in the Market Place.
